Now I shop at Ace, or the mom and pop place. Also, the installers are not Lowe's employees. I also learned that there are actually five "managers" at the Lowe's store, so if you call in and ask for the manager, your chances are good that you will be talking to someone who never heard of your situation and has no interest in fixing it. My error in signing the completion paperwork when they "only had a small part to order and would be back in a few days to finish it." Not only does it have a major problem (it gets too hot to touch when it's in direct sunlight) but the installation people only partly did the installation and then didn't complete it for months. Then last year I bought a Larson storm door at Lowe's and had them install it. So after that I shopped at Lowe's, Ace, or a local mom and pop hardware store. It took months of phone calls before a refund showed up on my credit card. They said they had to contact the manufacturer. I have hazed out on the exact details, but some years ago I returned a defective faucet to HD. Take your business to Lowes, see if you get better service. This is becoming frustrating because my return history pointed out I hardly make returns without receipts and in this case I HAVE THE RECEIPT! and all I am looking for is STORE CREDIT! I contacted Home Depot corporate which took down all the information and said they would get back to me. I was told I can write a letter asking for permission for this return and Home Depot has 30 days to accept it or decline it. According to them my return history at Home Depot has been stellar, and at no point did they attempt to block me from ongoing returns-just this one transaction is continually being blocked. I called up the return verification company again and requested my return report. Apparently, they can track the 10 items being returned as a bundle. My father in law tried using his id and he was also rejected from performing the transaction. I went to Home Depot yesterday under the assumption I was cleared, and I was rejected after trying to return the same 10 items. I called the verification company up and they insisted I am not black listed from Home Depot and it was only that one transaction (10 items) that is causing an issue. I didn't push too hard since I didn't want to become a nuisance because I do shop there very frequently. They basically deferred to the system, even though I had the receipt. The problem is the store credit can not be used online or by my wife.Īllan12 wrote:Update: When I wasn't able to initially make the return I did ask to speak to a manager who wasn't helpful at all. When I returned some unused items they reversed charge to my credit card, and issued the remainder in store credit rather that issuing refunds to the original form of payment (gift card, and store credit). I purchased several items and paid with store credit, Home Depot Gift Cards, and credit card. I too had a recent VERY BAD EXPERIENCE AT HOME DEPOT. I had my receipt, but my drivers license was apparently blocked.Īnyone have any experience with this? Super disappointed in Home Depot, and very confused. Spent about $175 for electrical products, I went to return about $50 worth of electrical products and my return wasn't allowed. In the past, I've made returns without receipts, and just use the store credits for future purchases.Īfter the new year I traded in AMEX points for a $200 Home Dept gift card. I've been doing a lot of work around my house, and sometimes I will buy an extra few pieces/parts and make the returns to Home Depot.
